The invitation gets all the attention. But the wedding invitation accessories and extras surrounding it are what bring the suite together. The finishing touches that turn the opening of an envelope into a experience worth remembering. Here's what is possible beyond the suite itself.

Envelope Liners

The liner is the first reveal. The moment before the invitation, before anything else.

A hand painted marsh scene, a botanical pattern or stripes in your palette color. Custom liners are one of the simplest ways to add personality and a pop of color to your suite. It's one of the most noticed details when guests open an envelope.

They also add structure to the main envelope, eliminating the need for an outer envelope. The double envelope is a beloved tradition and is still very much in practice for those who want it. It simply comes down to personal preference.

Bellybands

A bellyband wraps around your suite holding your cards while creating a moment for your guest to unwrap the details. A bellyband can be letterpress printed, foil stamped or digitally printed. It is also a place to add a pop of color to your suite with colored paper. Choosing unprinted colored paper is also a more cost effective option as it eliminates printing costs.

Gatefolds, Folders and Pockets

A gatefold opens like a pair of doors to reveal the invitation suite inside, creating a moment that is something worth slowing down for. Folders work similarly, with pockets added to the inside to house your enclosure cards neatly, holding everything together. These can close with ribbon, wax seals or any detail that feels like you. Pockets can also stand alone as a suite element, cradling your cards in a way that feels considered.

Vellum Wraps and Overlays

Vellum adds a translucent layer over your invitation that softens the design underneath while adding depth and an editorial quality. A word of honesty though, vellum has a tendency to curl over time. Full color digital printing can accelerate that, as can our humid Savannah air. We do love it regardless but it is something worth knowing before committing to it.

Wax Seals

A wax seal on the back of an envelope or holding a ribbon or belly band together is one of those elements that gets noticed. We source custom wax seals in your palette color, stamped with your monogram, crest or a design element from your suite, truly endless possibilities. A small moment that showcases an important detail.

Edge Painting and Beveling

The edge of your invitation is another way to add a fun pop of color. There are two ways to achieve this. Flat edge painting is done by custom mixing ink and airbrushing it directly onto the sides of the card. Beveling uses a colored paper adhered to the back of the invitation, then beveled so the color sits on the forefront edge. Two different techniques, with slightly different results, both beautiful. Duplexing

Duplexing bonds two or more sheets of paper together for extra weight and depth. Think of it as single-ply versus double-ply, two single sheets bonded together to create one double-ply card with more weight and substance. Often used to layer a colored or patterned stock behind your cotton invitation, adding dimension and color without changing the front of design.

It also solves a practical problem when wanting a digital flat print on heavier paper. Digital printers have paper weight limitations and cannot print on heavier double-ply card stock. Duplexing allows us to print on a lighter single-ply sheet and bond it to another, giving you the weight and feel you're after without compromising design.

Die Cuts

Shapes that turn a standard card into something unexpected. Notched out corners, an oval, a fun scalloped edge or a shape specific to your venue or story. Die cuts add a sculptural quality to the suite that is sure to captivate. Ask about our library of die shapes on our [contact page]

Ribbon and Twine

A ribbon or twine tied around the suite adds warmth and handmade quality to the presentation. We source this individually to coordinate with your wedding suite.

Tags and Seals

Tags and seals are a considered way to close and finish your suite, tied by a ribbon or attached to hold everything together. A thoughtful place to add your names, monogram, your date or a single word or design element that feels like you.

Curated Stamps

Curated vintage stamps are a fun and personal way to tell your story on the outside of the envelope before it's even opened. It's worth noting, vintage stamps are priced higher than a standard postage stamp and because their face value varies you may need multiple stamps to meet the required postage amount. We are happy to navigate the options and find stamps that work beautifully with your vision.

For hand lettered addressed envelopes and calligraphy elements we work with a few local calligraphers. One we love is Ashley Curry Calligraphy, a Savannah based calligrapher whose work complements letterpress beautifully.
